The Research Institute for National Strategy (NSKI) held its 7th interdisciplinary conference on the social and economic situation of Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin on 21–22 November 2025 in Székelyudvarhely (Odorheiu Secuiesc), Transylvania, Romania. The highlighted theme of this year’s event was: Borders and Connections in Space and Time.

On 24-25 June, Warsaw’s EXPO XXI was buzzing from an excited crowd of innovators, safetyand security practitioners, scientists and industry representatives, arriving there on the invitationof DG HOME. This year’s edition of the event series pinpointed Boosting security throughEU-based innovation as its theme. This choice clearly reflects the current situation of civilsecurity, battling with shifts in geopolitics, extreme weather caused by climate change, andhybrid attacks.

This weekend (Nov 15-16), the PlayIT 2025 Budapest successfully concluded, thrilling Central Europe’s gaming and pop-culture community. The massive festival celebrated digital entertainment, drawing thousands of enthusiasts for a weekend of esports finals, unreleased game demos, workshops, and panel discussions.

The middle of this year was unusually busy even for the B-prepared consortium, as we were organizing the hackathon – the first major event showcasing the possibilities of deep collaboration with our products.

The past two days were all about teamwork, innovation and preparation. SZTAKI hosted our Polish consortium partners from the Municipality of Ustka and dove headfirst into the exciting journey of getting ready for next summer’s large-scale rescue drill.

This year’s EIB Summer School Alumni reunion brought together 80 former students in Luxembourg for a two-day deep dive into one central theme: disaster resilience. Attila Lengyel from EduGamiTech recalls how the event went.

On June 4, 2025, the Day of National Unity, the award ceremony for the “Flags, When They Wave…” drawing contest was held at the Hungarian National Museum. The contest, organized by the Research Institute for National Strategy (NSKI), was supported by the HUN-REN SZTAKI-led B-prepared project.
