Intense preparation for next year’s live drill in Ustka

...

The past two days were all about teamwork, innovation and preparation. SZTAKI hosted our Polish consortium partners from the Municipality of Ustka and dove headfirst into the exciting journey of getting ready for next summer’s large-scale rescue drill. Planning such an exercise is no small feat — every minute counts, every step matters. Together we mapped out the timeline, checked what (and who) is needed and made sure there’s always a solid Plan B — because that’s our job: to B-prepared.

On Day 2, we focused on reviewing the final details of the GPS-based walk, set to take place at the real drill site. We double-checked, fine-tuned and tested every detail — probably to the point of being a bit annoyingly meticulous even for ourselves! But it was one of those sessions where precision meets passion: a little exhausting, but incredibly rewarding.

...

Why so much effort? Because we believe in the impact. The GPS walks in the app, the immersive VR scenarios, and the real-life drill are all designed to have a lasting educational impact — helping citizens across Europe learn through play and experience what to do in those first critical minutes before help arrives in a disaster. That’s our mission: to inspire, to prepare — and to make resilience second nature.
