Budapest Comic Con just wrapped up, and what a weekend it was! The energy inside the Halls was absolutely electric, buzzing with fans, cosplayers, and creators celebrating all things geek culture. From the moment the doors opened, the venue transformed into a vibrant, chaotic playground where stormtroopers mingled with manga heroes, and wizards posed next to classic cartoon characters.
The cosplay competition was, as always, a spectacular display of craftsmanship and dedication. You could spot incredible homemade costumes that looked straight out of a blockbuster movie, proving that Hungarian fans truly bring their A-game. Beyond the visual feast, the convention floor was packed with exciting programs, including engaging panels with celebrity guests, bustling artist alleys overflowing with unique prints and commissions, and vendor booths tempting wallets with everything from rare collectibles to the latest graphic novels. It was a proper pilgrimage for anyone looking to snag a new piece of fandom merch or just soak up the joyous, communal atmosphere.
You probably know us well enough by now that it was just the place for B-prepared! Joining forces once again with the iconic VFGE – kudos to them for hosting us – we dived into this weekend with full energy, bringing a crew from SFC, SZTAKI and NSKI.
The B-prepared stand was even invaded by pirates 🏴☠️🦜🙀 but fought bravely and took it back. We met a gingerbread Darth Vader, elves from the Lord of the Rings, and many more insanely creative people 🤩
More than 125 people played with VR-prepared 😱 – a significant part of them trying VR for the first time – and countless more tried and loved IM-prepared or just had a chat with us about B-prepared and our mission.
The feedback we got was absolutely heartwarming. Teachers came to us with curiosity and departed happily, already planning the next class trip with IM-prepared. Parents’ faces lit up, saying that finally they have found an app with which they knew their kids would be doing something useful but still fun during their screen time. Developers dropped by to have a look at our games and gave their sincere appreciation.
THIS is exactly why it’s worth doing it, even after 10 hours on foot and talking until you’re hoarse, not to mention the less glorious and more numerous days of silent determination. Because it makes a difference, for so many people.
Seriously, if you missed out, you missed a convention bursting with personality! The playful chaos of navigating the crowded halls, the sheer delight of seeing a favorite character come to life, and the shared excitement over a newly signed autograph—it all came together for a perfectly nerdy, fun-filled event. Budapest Comic Con proved yet again that it’s the place to be for a high-octane celebration of imagination and pop culture.
