In 2024, the Multimedia in Education Division of the John von Neumann Computer Science Society organized the 30th International Conference titled “Multimedia in Education” in Budapest, at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. As in the previous years, researchers from HUN-REN SZTAKI also presented at this prestigious conference.
The conference was held on 3rd December, 2024, at the Research Centre for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The goal of the latest professional event was to facilitate networking, exchange experiences and share best practices among domestic and international professionals, educators working in various fields of education and R&D, as well as PhD and higher education students. It also aimed to support the collection of credits related to specific training fields and promote the wider dissemination of John von Neumann’s legacy.
Zsolt László Márkus, head of the eLearning Department, presented the objectives and outputs of the B-prepared Horizon Europe project to the participants of his session. His presentation also touched upon several topics, including: Multimedia in Public Education; The Application of Multimedia in Higher Education and Adult Education; mLearning, eLearning, and Their Environments; Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) in Education.
Impressive videos were created to showcase the multi-platform services and content packages being developed within the project, including a case study sample developed in the VR product and a thematic sample walk available in the IM-prepared smartphone application. The B-prepared project employs methodological elements of gamified knowledge transfer and learning, making it accessible to the entire population regardless of age. One of the project’s objectives is to establish collaborations in higher education, which as Zsolt specifically highlighted, is currently inviting participants to express their interest.
